VISITORS to Knutsford’s green flag park will now find it easier to identify the birds they spot, thanks to new interpretation boards recently installed on the Moor.
Three boards have been installed by Friends of the Moor, one featuring water birds, one general birds and one the plants and trees found on the Moor.
The Friends’ annual birdwatch was used to identify the birds on the Moor, whilst park managers, ANSA, identified the various trees and wildflowers.
The boards were funded through a grant from Manchester Airport, one is installed near the Moor Pool whilst the others are on the two southern paths.
Friends of the Moor chairman, Adam Keppel-Green said: “We hope that visitors to the Moor will enjoy searching out the birds and flowers that you can now more easily identify – hunting them out is just one more activity that can be enjoyed on our fantastic park.”
Friends of the Moor is holding its annual RSPB Birdwatch on Saturday January 26.
We are eagerly seeking new volunteers to join them as a voice for the Moor and Barncroft – you can find out more emailing hello@friendsofthemoor.org.uk
